Connotation Meaning Analysis On 5 Cm Film

The film is a series of images which shown on the Screen creating the illusion of moving images. The movie is currently the entertainment in all circles. One of the booming films in late 2012 is 5 cm movie directed by Rizal Mantovani, the film is lifted from the novel by Donny Dhirgantoro where contains dialogues of connotation meaning. There is a statements of problem in this thesis: What are dialogues on 5 cm included in connotation meaning ?. This study used a critical analysis using Barthes' semiotic analysis by using data collection in this study carried out by the observations on the movie 5 cm. To examine the movie in a semiotic perspective, the movie 5 cm audio-visual form, the data collection techniques by download a 5 cm movies and play them on the laptop for examination. The research found: (1) the connotation meaning that exist on 5 cm film (2) dialogues contain connotative meaning on 5 cm film. Within the analysis and the dialogues of this film can be used to form the basis of society in exploring the connotation meaning that exist in the film. Connotation meanings on the 5 cm film contain aspects of social life, such as: love, spirit, friendship, struggle, relation with human nor god, etc. In dialogue "Cinta dan Setia itu pilihan, bukan sejalan" It has meaning “love and loyalty”. In dialogue "Hidup itu membutuhkan perjuangan, karena gak ada satu hal pun yg bisa sukses tanpa sebuah perjuangan". It has meaning “struggle”. It is in line with theory that success requires a struggle. Then In dialogue "Ketika tuhan mengambil sesuatu dari genggamanmu, dia tak menghukummu, namun hanya membuka tanganmu untuk menerima hal yang lebih baik". It has meaning “grace”. It is in line with theory of connotative meaning that when god gives you disaster it is a sign you are being tested to be upgraded to a better one. Overall, the writer found connotative meaning occurs in majority of the dialogue.
