Politeness Strategies Used In Aurel Hermansyah’s Tingkeban Ceremony In Atta Halilintar Youtube Channel

The aims of this research is to analyze the politeness strategies contained inAurel Hermansyah's Tingkeban ceremony. The researcher chose to take data fromthe tingkeban ceremony because previously research on politeness strategies hadrarely studied culture. The researcher used qualitative method to analyzes whattypes of politeness strategies most often appear and are used by Master ofCeremony (MC) in Aurel's Tingkeban. The data source comes from the YouTubevideo of Aurel Hermansyah's tingkeban ceremony on the Atta Halilintar YouTubechannel which was uploaded on December 18th 2021. The data are collected by: (1)Opened the youtube app, watched video closely, choose the words that is includedas politeness strategies, (2) Searching the transcript, (3) Highlighting the words thatcontain the politeness obtained from the transcript, and classified them into whichtype of politeness strategies. The researcher found that 242 data (sentences) used inAurel Hermansyah’s Tingkeban Ceremony. After collecting the data, the researcherconcluded that Positive Politeness is most often used as many as 112 sentences or46%. 55 sentences or 23% Negative Politeness, 38 sentences or 16% Off Record,and 37 sentences or 15% Bald on Record. And the type of politeness is most oftenused by the MC at the Tingkeban ceremony in Aurel Hermansyah is a positivepoliteness with 52 sentences or 63% 1 sentences or 1% Negative Politeness, 29sentences or 35% Off Record.
