Abstract

Depression is one of several mental-ilness, this kind of illness usually can be fatal and factthat lead vocal of Linkin Park found to commit suicide. People with depression will usuallygive a signal to environment, one of which is through language. This research entitled:Analysis Depression in Linkin Park’s Album One More Light (Psychoanalytic Study). Focusof this research is limited on basic idea which emphasized into single question: How is thedepression expressed in Linkin Park’s Album One More Light? and the objective of thisresearch is to define how the depression expressed on Linkin Park’s Album One More Light.Since this research lay on literary critism, the psychoanalyctical approach using SigmundFreud’s Theory is chosen by the researcher, then to find out the symptom and the causative,researcher using Aaron Beck’s theory in order to define how the depression expressed in thelyrics of song as a sign of depression through language. The researcher found severalsymptoms of depression which is reflected in the song lyric, to find the causative the authortried to figure out the personality of the vocalist, Chester as he is the one who depressed andcommit suiced.
